This wedding was so much fun…for me personally because I got the chance to catch up with a lot of former friends and colleagues, but mostly because this couple was truly joyous. The groom was actually glowing with happiness. It was so heartwarming. There was so much love all around that I had a goofy smile on my face the entire afternoon.

I am not a wedding photographer – I don’t have the experience or the equipment to properly photograph a wedding. But when a lovely colleague asked if I was interested in taking photos for her wedding reception/party I agreed albeit with some trepidation. No matter how laid back and casual the event, the romantic beauty of a new marriage is magical and I was very nervous that my lack of wedding experience would rob this wonderful couple of the precious images they deserve. I won’t lie – photographing this event was the biggest challenge my camera and I have faced. But, as ever, the happiness of the occasion, the joy of the people attending the event and the obvious bliss of the couple triumphed over my inexperience. I’m so happy I was given this opportunity.
