It is always with a bit of trepidation that I introduce new clients to my studio. I’m under no illusion regarding its grandeur and pretty quickly, neither are they. After uttering my standard preparation speech which includes phrases like: “it’s ghetto/unfinished, it’s not heated/air-conditioned, but I promise the photos will turn out beautifully!” clients enter the space and the magic happens. Recently I had an adult headshot client who remarked: “it’s not ghetto – it’s artsy!” And with that positive spin and vote of confidence I’ve decided to post a little tour of the space. Because it’s artsy! No apologies. 
There are chairs and things that hang.
Fun things that small people look cute on.
Oooh, backdrops galore!
There is a “grass” rug.
There is a “wood” floor.
There is a very old heating unit which scares me too much to use.
There are backdrops and lights.
Hat mayhem!

Owen was amazing at 3 months – all eyes and sweetness, I immediately loved his gorgeous face. And he did not disappoint at one: still handsome, still appraising with those stunning eyes, and now also asserting himself with a sweet voice, agile (and quick) movements and a great personality. As always, I enjoyed catching up with his mom – lovely and gracious despite the fact that she drove quite a distance for our session (and on a poor night’s sleep because someone still wakes EVERY TWO HOURS at night)! So Owen, while I love you and I could photograph you all day long…give your mom a break, ok? Hope you love the photos. And I hope next time I see you everyone is getting a solid 8 hours every night. :)

My neighbors are great…everyone in my town that I have the pleasure to know is great, actually. But I love my neighbors across the street. They are kind, thoughtful (brought us HOMEMADE mince pies!) and fun and their son is just breathtakingly handsome. I was thrilled to get this little guy in front of my camera – he is definitely a natural and I suspect will be a bit of a heart-breaker in not-too-many years to come. Speaking of which, I better keep my eye on my Claire! :) Hope you love the photos.

This angel is quick one and she wanted to explore (versus model, sadly for me)…curious, clever and so fast, this sweetie kept me on my feet, on the floor and all over the place! She wasn’t too keen on smiling for me this time, but I think I’m wearing her down. Next time I’ll get one from her, and maybe a seated photo too! Hope you love the photos. :)

Remember this family? I first met them when I did a maternity session while mom was pregnant with gorgeous son Bryce. I loved working with creative and beautiful mom, fun, relaxed dad and sweet, conscientious big brother Dean (who is also gorgeous) – and this session reminded me how great this family is. The boys were so cute and cooperative – I couldn’t get enough of them. And I love parents who are natural and unconcerned in front of the camera. Everything just came together and we captured some beautiful memories. I can’t wait until next time! Hope you love the photos. xoxo

What a lucky child Angelina is. She’s gorgeous and sweet, well-behaved (and well-dressed) and she has a lovely, dedicated and hard-working beautiful mommy whose deep love for her baby girl was so abundantly evident that it was itself a thing of beauty. Working with these two was amazing and inspiring… I’m so happy the images from our session capture the special bond this mother and daughter share. Hope you love the photos. xoxo

Abigail is a charmer. Great smile, beautiful eyes, and a warm, bubbly personality. Despite the challenges she’s faced since being diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia this is a child who brings light and joy into the world. I’m so grateful I got to meet her via Inspiration Through Art (check out the site, it’s an amazing cause). I wish her complete and endless remission and peace for her wonderful family. Estella was precious. Gorgeous, sweet, happy, deliciously perfect. She had amazing blue eyes and a sparkling personality to match. I could take per picture every day and never get tired. Come back soon, I don’t want to miss anything! Hope you love the photos.
