You can have a friend soul mate, right?  I guess the currently popular nomenclature is “BFF” and I’d use that term since all the kids are doing it, but honestly it doesn’t feel magical enough to describe the love I have for my friend Vandana.  You know, we’ve known each other since we were 12, went through tumultuous high school together, went off to college and grew apart for a time (well, like 13 years), then reconnected and it’s like not a single day has passed.  She looks the same, has the same comfortable familiarity and the same infectious laugh.  She makes the person she’s talking to feel important and special.  She has a generous, loving spirit.  Vandana is a rare gem of a person and a wonderful, dear friend who has touched my life in such a way that I know she will be with me forever.  I truly love her.  So, friend soul mate it is.

And that was my very long-winded introduction to the main attraction here which are a few of the pictures I took of Vandana and her beautiful family yesterday.  I was very nervous for this shoot because I really wanted to capture the love and happiness I see whenever I’m with this family – and the fun they have together.  But once they got here and we started, the love and the happiness were impossible to miss – this family simply exudes these emotions.  It’s so wonderful to see, on many levels.  I’m always thrilled to see a happy family – but it is even more profoundly touching when it’s your friend soul mate and she’s glowing and fulfilled and loved.  And, oh my.  What gorgeous children.  It’s a dream come true.

Aren’t they awesome!??  Oh, the heart…it is so full of love.
